Queensyard is a British restaurant adapted for modern New York by D&D London. Located in the Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards, this upscale space provides comfortability in its atmosphere where the interior design plays off the idea of an English country home. With each area of the restaurant set to reflect the various rooms in a home, the menus were designed to accentuate this feeling. The main Dining Room menu is presented with a more formal hard back cover, whereas the Kitchen allows guests to relax a little with a casual folded cardstock menu.
The brand wanted to be fun and slightly irreverent, but also needed to fit within the modern luxury space that is Hudson Yards. A simple serif typeface anchored the brand to a classic English feeling while the irreverent sheep took on a personality of its own, bearing various items relating to each menu or section, providing a subtle hint to lighten up a little. To compliment the neutral color palette, a secondary floral pattern was created to give the menus some life and reference back the classic English side of Queensyard.
